Warren Buffett’s Annual Letter

Most long investors usually want to hear what the Oracle of Omaha has to say about the markets, especially since we’ve reached new lows.

Well, via a BusinessWire news release yesterday:

OMAHA, Neb.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Berkshire Hathaway Inc.’s 2008 Annual Report to the shareholders will be posted on the Internet on Saturday February 28, 2009, at approximately 8:00 a.m. eastern time where it can be accessed at www.berkshirehathaway.com. The Annual Report will include Warren E. Buffett’s annual letter to shareholders and other information about Berkshire’s financial position and results of operations.

    Buffett’s letters are always great.
I just picked up 1 share of BRK.B at $2303 earlier this week as a long-term investment.

I’ve always admired Buffett and Berkshire, and I’m pleased that the stock finally sold at a level that passed my screens.

As a lucky bonus, I picked up my share at a significant discount to the A share price. Theoretically, each B share is worth 1/30th of an A share, but the B shares had plunged to a discount of 6.7% at the time of my purchase.

The discount also suggests that it is smaller, less sophisticated investors (which are concentrated in the B shares) that have been driving down the price.

I’m looking forward to seeing what Buffett has to say.
